If you’re thinking about taking on any home improvement project – do it!

Just do your research, plan it out and put it on your schedule.

There is so much information online now and most hardware stores have everything you need – the days of “to the trade only” are pretty much over. And ordering online couldn’t be easier.

The biggest obstacle is Overwhelm…you don’t want any areas of your house to be a mess due to painting, tiling or putting in flooring…that’s why its critical to have a plan of what you’re going to accomplish each day until the task is done.

This way, you’ll know exactly where you stand, when you plan on being done (it’s important to know when you’ll see “the end of the tunnel”!).

Also, at the end of each day’s work, give yourself 15-30 minutes clean up time…nothing undermines moral like walking into a mess the next morning. This REALLY is a necessity if you’re a “weekend warrior” with the projects – you have to make your space livable!

In your research, come up with you supply list…nothing is more irritating than starting a job, getting momentum, and then having to stop and run to the store, taking an hour, getting tired and feeling your motivation drain away…Prepare for the day and have those supplies on hand.

Just take on one project at a time, have a plan, have all the supplies on hand…go for it!

As many of you know, I’ll be releasing my Cabinet Painting Masterclass soon. I also want to have tiling experts (for flooring and backsplashes), flooring pros and other DIY experts share their knowledge and tips on this blog…is that something that would interest you?

Please let me know in the comments below how I can help you!
